The New York Lottery ads that were all over the subway would bug the heck out of me. Not only were they creepy (a ton of little bobble-head men coming at you), but I thought the message to be subtly racist. Luck was represented by only little white men in suits. What a gross oversight by the people who made that ad.
Our culture is surrounded by ads; it is a part of our socialization. I wonder how much power is yielded over the public through ads, how much it changes our behavior or our thought process.
